How many people are in the congregation of LSBC?
We normally have about 40 people of all ages in our Sunday morning worship service
Do you have more than one service a week?
We meet Sundays at 11 AM for our worship service. We have Sunday School for adults and kids starting at 10 AM. On Sunday evenings at 7 PM, we meet for an in-depth study on what we believe and why. Visitors are welcome to attend any of these services. These services may be adjusted for holidays, weather and other events.
What about Bible study sessions during the week?
We believe strongly in individual and small group Bible study. Men and women meet for Bible Study on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM at the church building. Those seeking God are welcome to come and learn with us.
What version of the Bible do you use?
Our congregation and speakers do not use one particular version. We are not a King James only body. Our members use a variety of modern translations, such as English Standard, New International and New King James. We do not dictate which versions are “best”.
Is LSBC organized in a way to allow transparent banking and donations?
Yes, we have officers that allow us to have bank accounts and we report regularly to our congregation about our finances. We use a local credit union for our banking. We are incorporated in the State of Michigan and are recognized with 501c3 status by the IRS.
Does LSBC believe in the inerrancy of scripture?
Absolutely. We believe the Bible is the Word of God, written by men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit.
Do you have a Statement of Beliefs and established doctrine?
Our basis for worship and teaching are several documents long used in Baptist and evangelical churches. These include London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689. We are working toward more detailed documents, such as church by-laws and a statement of beliefs.
